Zidane has no plans to leave the club, according to Benzema

Karim Benzema is convinced that Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane would stay with the club and guide the 2021-22 season.

Despite rising concerns, Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema does not believe head coach Zinedine Zidane will quit the Santiago Bernabeu.

After a second time in command of Real Madrid, Zidane is largely anticipated to go, with the previous club and Serie A powerhouse Juventus a probable destination.

Following winning three straight Champions League championships and the LaLiga title during his first spell in Madrid, Zidane returned in 2019 and won the league once more last season.

Los Blancos, on the other hand, were overtaken by city rivals Atletico Madrid this season.

In a complete interview with L’Equipe that will be published on Tuesday, Benzema said: “I don’t see him leaving. He will not leave, you will see.”

Madrid finished the 2020-21 season with an 18-game unbeaten record in LaLiga (W13 D5), the longest such run by any side in the tournament and their best since March 2014 under Carlo Ancelotti (W15 D3).

Benzema was involved in 32 goals in LaLiga this season (23 goals and nine assists), exceeding his previous high score of 31 goals in a single season in the league (31 — 24 goals and seven assists).
