Alaba has finally been confirmed as the new Real Madrid player
Alaba has signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid.
David Alaba, the defender from Bayern Munich, has joined Real Madrid on a free transfer. The Austrian has signed a five-year deal with the club.
Following the expiration of his Bayern Munich contract on 30 June, the Austrian international defender will join Madrid on a free transfer. He has agreed to a five-year contract with Los Blancos.
During his 11-year stint with Bayern’s first squad, Alaba, 28, made 431 appearances for the Bundesliga club, earning 27 trophies, including two Champions League crowns.
After this summer’s European Championship, in which he and Austria have been placed in a group with the Netherlands, Ukraine, and North Macedonia, he will be introduced as a Madrid player.
For quite some time, Alaba’s relocation to Madrid has been a well-kept secret. Talks on his signing began in 2020 and accelerated in early 2021, with super-agent Pini Zahavi representing the player, who was in the Spanish city earlier this week on a house-hunting mission.
