Manchester United confirmed the release of eight players at the end of the season.
Man Utd will let go two of the goalkeepers of the first-team and six players from their Academy.
Manchester United is preparing for a busy transfer window this summer with a few top players on their shortlist like Harry Kane, Jadon Sancho, and Kieran Trippier, and rumors about a comeback of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The board wants to close the gap between them and Man City and make sure they will have a word in the title battle for the upcoming season.
But until they will start their transfers campaign the board has decided to let go of some of the players that their contract is running out at the end of June.
First-team goalkeepers Joel Pereira and Sergio Romero are among the eight players dismissed, as are six Academy members: Jacob Carney, Mark Helm, Iestyn Hughes, Arnau Puigmal, Max Taylor, and Aliou Traore.
Meanwhile, veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant and seasoned attacker Juan Mata, as well as promising goalkeeper Paul Woolston, are in talks with United about new contracts with Manchester United.
