Manchester United could finally land Jadon Sancho
MANCHESTER UNITED’S pursuit of Jadon Sancho may come to an end this summer, with Borussia Dortmund notifying the star that he is free to leave.
Last summer, the Red Devils were anxious to sign Jadon Sancho but were unable to do so due to financial constraints. The Bundesliga club sought £117 million for the 21-year-old but is now reportedly willing to accept £75 million.
Dortmund will say their last farewell to Sancho this summer, according to German daily BILD. As a number of major clubs throughout Europe plan swoop for fellow star Erling Haaland, they are keen on keeping him.
Dortmund executives, on the other hand, are said to be okay with selling Sancho to United rather than cashing in on the Norwegian. And they’ve already found someone to take his place. To replace the void, they’re planning a move for Lille winger Jonathan Ikone.
Jadon Sancho netted 16 goals and contributed to another 21 in all competitions despite a poor start to the season. And two of his goals came in Dortmund’s recent DFB Pokal final victory against RB Leipzig, which gave him his first major trophy.
According to the Telegraph, the Bundesliga club is willing to make a substantial reduction in their asking price for their star player.
They further claim that a number of United players have persuaded manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to replace him with another attacker.
