Liverpool has agreed terms with Konaté
Ibrahima Konaté is set to join Liverpool in the upcoming transfer window.
The U21 Frenchman, Konaté is one of the most promising centre-backs in the world right now and according to transfer king Fabrizio Romano he has agreed terms with Liverpool since April and will sign a contract until June 2026.
RB Leipzig surely know how to make business, they have signed Konaté in 2017 as a free agent from Sochaux and now they will cash in around £35m.
The centre-back has hit by injuries this season and played only 21 games in all competitions, he was benched many games by Julian Nagelsmann and didn’t manage to impose himself in the first eleven in front of Willy Orban and Dayot Upamecano.
Jurgen Klopp top centre-backs hit by injuries
Konaté will not have a very easy task on Anfield either where he will need to fight for a place in the team with Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip. All three have missed most of the season because of injuries and Klopp was seen forced to improvise moving Henderson or Fabinho at the back many games in the first half of the season.
