Kenedy will go on loan at Flamengo from Chelsea
Chelsea winger Kenedy is re-crossing the Atlantic and rejoining Brazilian Séria, to Flamengo, the Brazilian champions, on a 12-month loan.
Flamengo is said to be paying a €3 million loan fee With the option to pay an additional €7 million (or €9.5 million) next summer to make it into a permanent €10 million move.
Kenedy’s Chelsea contract was only extended for another three years (until 2024) in April, but there is a good probability he will not return. Flamengo is no stranger to really exercising buy-option agreements, as they did with attackers Gabriel Barbosa and Pedro lately to great effect.
Kenedy is coming off a career-best season in La Liga with Granada, and Flamengo will be hoping he can repeat or improve on his 8 goals and 6 assists as they attempt to defend their league championship and win the Copa Libertadores for the third time.
