Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has agreed to join AC Milan
After three years at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has finalized his move to AC Milan for an undisclosed price according to BBC.
In January 2018, the France striker joined Chelsea for £18 million from Arsenal.
On Twitter, the 34-year-old thanked Chelsea for the “wonderful moments,” saying he’s “getting ready to embark on a new adventure with a light and joyful heart.”
He wrote: “Our victories in the FA Cup, Europa League, and Champions League have been magnificent.”
Giroud added: “To all the Blues, to my teammates, to all my coaches, to the whole club, a huge thank you for these special moments.”
Last season, he made only eight Premier League starts but scored 11 goals in 31 appearances for European winners Chelsea.
In 119 games with the Blues, he scored 39 goals and won the Champions League, Europa League, and FA Cup.
The World Cup champion, who also won three FA Cups with Arsenal, was a late substitute in France’s Euro 2020 quarterfinal loss to Switzerland.
Last season, AC Milan finished 12 points behind Serie A champion Inter Milan.
Last summer, Chelsea added Germany forwards Kai Havertz and Timo Werner, limiting Giroud’s playing time in the 2020-21 league season.
