Antonio Conte exit from Inter Milan days after he lifted the Serie A title

By mutual consent, Antonio Conte resigns as Inter Milan’s head coach; the former Chelsea manager led Inter to their first Serie A title in 11 years.

Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi is expected to succeed Conte at Inter.

By unanimous understanding, he has left Inter Milan, with Simone Inzaghi set to take over as head coach of the Serie A champions.

The Italian manager has reached an agreement with the club’s owners to be paid €7 million in the final year of his contract.

However, according to the Italian newspaper La Stampa, there is a different reason for Conte’s departure: a massive offer to return to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite the fact that Tottenham finished seventh last season, chairman Daniel Levy has proposed a contract worth up to £17 million per year.
